North of England African Community Organisation (NEEACA) emerged in 1978 from earlier gatherings like The Ghana Union and SCAFRO (Standing Conference of African Organisations), and was formalized in 1997 to contribute to the wellbeing of those of African descent.

Its initial focus on welfare and advocacy has been combined with social events maintaining and disseminating African culture and educating on African history and current affairs, always with wonderful food and music. All its events are inclusive, child-friendly, and open to all.

This charitable, unfunded, volunteer -led organisation works closely with other statutory and voluntary organisations to disseminate information on employment, health, social and cultural opportunities and to offer educational and cultural workshops and visits to its members. See www.neeaca.org.
